Particle Size in Moringa Powder: Why 80–100 Mesh Matters
Mesh size is one of the most overlooked specs in moringa powder sourcing. Here's what 80–100 mesh means and why it's the B2B standard.

Mesh size is one of the most overlooked specs in moringa powder sourcing. For B2B buyers, particle size drives formulation cost, mouthfeel, and nutrient extraction. Here's what 80–100 mesh actually means.
Mesh measures fineness — how many openings per linear inch a sieve has. 80-mesh = roughly 180 microns; 100-mesh = 149 microns. So 80–100 mesh is micro-fine, comparable to baking flour. It's the working B2B standard: fine enough for clean encapsulation and smooth beverages, without the cost premium of ultra-fine powders (200 mesh+).
Mesh directly affects capsule fill consistency, beverage dispersion, bioavailability surface area, and mouthfeel in functional bars. Coarser powders (60 mesh or below) bridge in capsule hoppers and produce inconsistent fill weights. Ultra-fine grades cost 30–40% more and bring their own flow problems.
Specify the mesh range in your RFQ — don't just say 'fine'. Our standard moringa powder is 80–100 mesh, stone-ground to preserve colour and aroma. A clearly specified mesh range is one of the simplest indicators of supplier discipline. Ask for batch QC reports to verify it.
